Carey Torrice raises awareness for Ovarian Cancer

County commissioner hosts fundraiser Published: July 5, 2007 STERLING HEIGHTS – County Commissioner Carey Torrice will hold an ovarian cancer fundraiser July 8 at 7:30 p.m. during a Beach Boys concert at Freedom Hill Amphitheatre in Sterling Heights.Torrice’s mother is being treated for ovarian cancer, and the commissioner will donate half of each $10 lawn seat sold to ovarian cancer research and Providence Hospital. Huber Breese Music in Fraser donated a Fender Squire guitar, which will be signed by Beach Boy Mike Love and raffled off. Raffle tickets will be $10 each. A tent will be set up at the concert to accept donations.

Lawn seat tickets for the concert have been set aside for the fundraiser for $10, and are available at the Freedom Hill box office or at Eye Spy detective agency on Utica Road, at Masonic, in Fraser. Eye Spy is located at 32059 Utica Road. Freedom Hill is located at 14900 Metro Parkway in Sterling Heights.
