What happens when two of the “hottest” female politicians in America get acquainted and share stories?Well, The Insider doesn’t have all the details, but former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin chatted a bit with Macomb County Commissioner Carey Torrice, sharing a little girl talk on Friday in Columbus, Ohio. Torrice pre-arranged to briefly meet Palin during the Columbus stop on the former vice presidential nominee’s wildly successful book-signing tour. The commissioner had hoped to spend some time afterward with Palin, but she only got a couple of minutes with the politician/celebrity. Torrice, of course, was labeled by TMZ, the gossipy TV show and Web site, as one of America’s hottest politicians last year. Palin has also been placed in that same category. On her MySpace page on Saturday, Torrice wrote about the Palin-Torrice connection: “Both were burst onto the national political stage like a comet.” A model/actress/private investigator, Torrice said she only had time to read a small portion of Palin’s best-selling book, “Going Rogue,” before the encounter in Columbus. But the commissioner is convinced that the two of them have plenty in common, even though she is a Democrat and Palin is a decidedly conservative Republican. Both are political mavericks, Torrice explained, who have been subjected to sexist stereotypes while campaigning for office. “She (Palin) is not one of the ‘good old boys,'” Torrice said. “She votes from her heart and I do the same thing.” Torrice had a photo taken with Palin while the ex-guv signed the commish’s copy of the book and Torrice, with an LOL, wrote in an e-mail that she may have the photo enlarged and placed on the wall of her office in the county Administration Building next to her movie posters.
