Hottiefest Returns to the Beach Grill

A little party has been making waves along the waterfront since 2002.

Although it started at the Roostertail a bit south of St Clair Shores, Hottiefest has called St Clair Shores’ own Beach Grill home for the past three years and is back for its fourth and funkiest year yet at 9 p.m. Saturday.

Hottiefest is just what it sounds like: an evening of the beautiful getting together and unabashedly celebrating their tans, ‘tudes, and toned bods, undulating to the area’s top DJs and hottest songs while sipping the most premium and hottest cocktails.

Past special guests have included Detroit athletes, Playboy Playmates, reality stars,and national acts. Sounds pretentious? Nah.

“It’s all in good fun,” says creator John Schoenith. “Everyone’s in a great mood, they’re showing off as much of their tan as possible, it’s a steamy summer night, the atmosphere is ripe for getting together… why not?”

Indeed why not! Slip into an alter ego (or your own spunky self) and check out the party. Hottiefest is such a large party — 2,000 guests last year alone — that it starts inside the front door, goes through the bar areas, the entertainment areas, spills out onto the party deck and laps over into the boats tied up side by side.

“It’s huge,” Schoenith reinforces.

There will be three DJs spinning tunes on the newly redone Beach Grill sound systems, and a squad of more than 40 0fficial “Hotties of Hottiefest” will be outfitted by Crime Sh*t Clothiers and will be holding court throughout the party and on DJ Zman’s huge host boat docked central overlooking the action.
