This is who i want for Vice President!
IS THERE SOMETHING ABOUT MICHIGAN CHICKS I DONT KNOW? this is who i want for vice president! >Welcome http://www.careytorrice.com/ Thank you for visiting my website. You will notice that this website design and content is much different than other elected officials. I have chosen to adopt a fun, fresh, exciting image. Not only do I show my political side of life, but I have also chosen to show my non-political side as well. This allows people to get to know me and see what I am all about. As an elected official I feel that this is a more effective approach in bringing an interest to the political arena. I am hoping that the design will influence younger voters to become more involved, while also keeping experienced voters well informed on local issues. Please browse my site keeping in mind that you have elected me to my position and I work for you. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, you can contact me at any time. I am always open to new ideas and fresh perspectives. If you would like to meet me in person, please attend one of the meetings or events indicated on this site calendar. I am also available to speak at any event you may have. Thank you for your support! ——————————————————————————– I will explain a little bit about myself and why I ran for Macomb County Commissioner. I have been a resident of Macomb County my whole life. I graduated from Chippewa Valley High School. I also have a degree from Macomb Community College. I have a very supportive family, whose morals, religious and political views have shaped my ambitions to be active in community events. My Wonderful husband is a Macomb County business owner. My Father USMC Sergeant Larry DeJaeghere was a Vietnam Veteran. He was laid to rest in 2005 at Arlington National Cemetery. My Mother was a spokesperson and survivor for Ovarian Cancer awareness for over 20 years. She passed away in 2007, but has inspired me to carry on her message. My father-in-law has been a doctor in Macomb County for almost 40 years. My mother-in-law is a public schools teacher. I continue to be involved in the community by putting together Ovarian Cancer fundraisers, and frequenting local events and charities. I have enhanced Macomb County’s presence by introducing celebrities and famous political figures. I fight for what I believe in. I ran for office when I had trouble with the system trying to bury my Father in Arlington National Cemetery. He always believed I would make a change. He used to tell me I brightened up people’s lives and made them believe again. My Mother always taught me to Believe in Yourself so here I am ready to work for you. Many people are confused as to what a County Commissioner actually does. A County Commissioner controls the budget, but has only limited authority to make laws or ordinances. In Michigan, most local government functions police, fire, building and zoning, tax assessment, street maintenance, etc. are the responsibility of individual cities and townships. So, in a nut shell, a County Commissioner decides how your hard earned tax dollars are spent. The Macomb County Board of Commissioners consists of 26 seats, with each commissioner representing a geographic district. Please contact me if you have any comments or suggestions on how to better the community we reside in. I look forward to talking with you directly. With your suggestions and support, together we can make Macomb County a wonderful place to live. Carey Torrice Macomb County Commissioner Biography As your Macomb County Commissioner, I believe that an elected official must be easily accessible to their constituents. I promise that if you ever contact me with a problem, I will immediately do my best to fight and resolve the issue. During my term in office, I have worked diligently as your County Commissioner. I have fought for many things. Some of the important things I have fought for are: a four-year university, cleaning the roads, water quality, fighting to keep the library open, treatment of animals, education, promoting new business in Macomb County to create more jobs and balancing the budget. All of this has been accomplished without raising taxes. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have about Macomb County. My phone number is (586) 285-5000. Thank you!
