Macomb County news briefs: Pet Fund Alliance deal considered
COMPILED FROM REPORTS BY STEVE NEAVLING, MELANIE D. SCOTT AND CHRISTINA HALL
A nonprofit group that handles pet adoptions for Oakland County government might take over adoptions for the Macomb County Animal Shelter, too.
Macomb County commissioners are negotiating with the Michigan Pet Fund Alliance to handle dog and cat adoptions to save $500,000 a year.
The group’s mission is to stop euthanizing all healthy pets. Macomb County caught criticism last year for euthanizing healthy animals.
Commissioners are to discuss the issue at 9 a.m. Wednesday, on the ninth floor of the County Building,
1 S. Main, Mt. Clemens.
