Carey Torrice is starting to rival county Sheriff Mark Hackel for media face time. The 32-year-old actress, model and, oh yeah, county commissioner will next appear in a public service announcement promoting the Michigan movie industry. She will be among celebrities such as Kid Rock and Governor Granholm to appear in the ads along with veteran and newcomer industry professionals, including recent graduates of Macomb Community College’s film program.Sponsored by the nonprofit Michigan Production Alliance, the PSA’s are part of a campaign called, I live in Michigan, I want to work in Michigan. Torrice touts on her Web site that she also was featured last month in Japan’s Friday magazine as one of the world hottest politicians. That designation comes a year after she pushed for her inclusion on the TMZ Web site as the nation’s hottest politician, and invited Inside Edition film her at a county Board of Commissioners meeting.Torrice, who was re-elected to a second term last fall, may not be paying for these media flashes, but they sure seem to be paying off.
